We know Laura from way back when she was still a hostess at a restaurant we had all worked together at. Though time gets by us all and eventually we lost touch with some people, it never ceases to amaze me how much our work brings us all back together, Whether its weddings, family sessions, portraits for their current jobs, etc, a lot of our old friends reconnect with us after years to work together and catch up. It's always so cool to see how far people have come and what directions they chose in life and I think that's one of our favourite things about our line of work.
After one of the most unique engagement sessions we had ever shot (click here for K&L's K-Days Engagement Session), we had been DYING to shoot their wedding. The Edmonton Scottish Society has quickly become one of our favorite places to shoot. Outdoor ceremonies are beautiful and here they have a beautiful background that looks amazing in photos. They also have a very unique path just a short walk away that is lined with trees to make a natural tunnel.
Laura and Kyle opted to do a first look as they wanted their ceremony and reception as close together time=wise as possible. They wanted to have as much time as possible with their guests, while still ensuring they had tons of time for photos. Having a first look is a great way to accomplish this,
After their romantic and intimate first look, off we went to our good friends Taylor & Jordyn's property to do something a little more rustic. We had shot there in the winter and it was really cool to create new work in the summer. Kyle & Laura's style was very natural - full of wood grains and greens and we knew it would be a perfect match. After a lot of laughing and goofing around, we headed back to the Edmonton Scottish Society to witness them tie the knot, hear some heartwarming speeches, eat some amazing food, capture (and participate in) some hilarious dancing, and of course, venture outside for our signature sunset shots.
Congratulations Laura and Kyle - we wish you a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure. Thank you so much for including us in your day. We had the best time! "Did we just become best friends?" "I think we did!!"
