We first met Nicky back in the Montana's days - Nicky was a hostess, Andrew worked in the kitchen, and Kelty was serving tables. We were young and trying to figure out where our lives would go and I don't think that any of us could imagine that one day we would be the photographer's for Nicky & Chris' wedding. Friendships were forged and eventually we all left Montana's and found our own paths. When Nicky first told me about Chris (we were working at Montana's, of course!), I knew he was different. And special. You always want your friends to find their person - the one that makes them laugh, that brings lightness to the darkness, that will stand by you and be there for you, always. I hadn't met him yet but the way she spoke about him and the way he made her eyes sparkle told me she had found her person.
When Chris proposed in Disneyland (how awesome is that?!) I was so ecstatic for them. He couldn't be more perfect for her. Then they approached us and told us they wanted us to capture their special day - I was excited and overcome with emotions.
Weddings, for me, are always emotional. I love them. I love seeing the love that exists between two people. I love seeing two families coming together and the joy and happiness they feel because their loved ones are marrying the love of their life. I also love and admire all the hardwork that goes into one day and how it brings people together. I usually shed a few tears (the speeches always get me) at weddings, however, more than a few were shed during Nicky & Chris' day.
Capturing their wedding was really special for us and we could not be happier for them!! Congratulations Nicky and Christopher Quilichini!
Special shout out to Elyse Glor for her amazing skills. When I first stepped into the reception space my breath was taken away by how beautiful everything looked. It was a photographer's dream!
