Corey is a good friend of ours and we have known him for quite some time. I first met Corey because he had just been signed to Andrew's skateboard company, Riot. Andrew and I were meeting him and his friend downtown to film a skate edit. My first impression: crazy. Corey had no qualms about throwing himself around to get some good footage. I don't think before I met Corey I had ever seen someone take so many hard falls and get up and do it again. And again. He was determined. That determination and odd style is what ensured his spot on the Riot team.
Over the past few years I have travelled across 2 provinces with Corey (and up to 10 plus other dudes) and gotten to know him, maybe better than I have ever wanted to at times - a naked Corey being chased by a man dressed as an ape is not something I particularly ever needed to see.
And I have seen him grow into a unique individual - and a lot of that growth started when he met Kristina.
Seeing Corey with Kristina, you knew at once they were in love. They have this look that they give each other, slow smiles spreading over their faces, and you know that these two are crazy about each other. They are the kind of couple that's contagiously happy and you can't help but to feel a little bit lighter in the feet and joyous in the heart.
